Notice of Data Security Incident
The Pride Group of Northwest Iowa (“The Pride Group”) is notifying individuals of a data security incident that may have impacted their personal information. The Pride Group takes the privacy and security of all information seriously and apologizes for any concern or inconvenience this incident may cause.
What Happened?
On August 5, 2026, The Pride Group identified suspicious activity within its network. The Pride Group immediately implemented its incident response protocols, took its network offline, and engaged external cybersecurity experts to conduct an investigation to determine what occurred and whether any data may have been impacted. While the investigation is ongoing, the investigation to date has determined that an unauthorized individual gained access to some The Pride Group systems which stored files that potentially contained protected health information (“PHI”). The Pride Group is in the process of conducting a review of these files to determine what data was impacted by this incident and to whom it belonged.
What is The Pride Group Doing?
The Pride Group has taken steps to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future. Since the incident, The Pride Group deployed enhanced endpoint monitoring software which is being monitored 24/7, changed passwords, and implemented additional security controls. The Pride Group also notified law enforcement. The Pride Group has no evidence that any files potentially impacted by this incident have been misused and The Pride Group is posting this notice out of an abundance of caution.
Letters will be mailed to potentially impacted individuals for whom The Pride Group has addresses for once the review of the potentially impacted files has been completed. These letters will contain more information about the incident, complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services, and steps individuals can take to protect themselves.
What You Can Do:
Individuals should review credit reports, bank account and other financial statements, and immediately contact their financial institution if they identify suspicious activity. The Pride Group encourages you to remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft by reviewing bank accounts, explanations of benefits (EOBs), and other financial statements.
